The national newspapers in UK have been giving away free CDs with some of their Sunday editions for some years now. In the beginning it was mostly various artist compilation albums put together by record companies - but after Prince gave away his "Planet Earth" CD with the Mail On Sunday in 2007, other artists have also started using this marketing method.
